Chad's May-loading Doba crude cargoes sell out

All four 950,000 barrel May-loading cargoes of Chad's Doba crude, the country's only export grade, have been sold, according to trading sources Tuesday.

Two of the cargoes were taken by regular buyers ExxonMobil and US refiner Sunoco, with two cargoes allocated to less frequent buyer Reliance of India, sources said.

Doba loadings will average 122,581 b/d in May, down 4,086 b/d from April.

The four cargoes were sold last week.

None of the reported lifters -- Glencore with two cargoes, along with CNPC and ExxonMobil -- were available to comment on the matter.

Doba is pumped from landlocked Chad through a 1,050 km pipeline across Cameroon to the Kome Kribi-1 floating storage and offloading facility. Liftings commenced in October 2003 and current production is around 100,000 b/d.

The grade has a gravity of 21.1 API, a sulfur content of 0.1% and an acidity of 5.18 mg KOH/g, making it a very heavy, acidic crude with a high calcium content of around 250 ppm.
