Petkim raises PVC Turkey list prices $15/mt
http://www.chemnet.com Feb 16,2016 PlattsTurkish petrochemicals producer Petkim has raised its list prices of polyvinyl chloride $15/mt on tight supply, a company source said Monday.
Petkim's price rise is the first since demand started slowing in May.
Turkish spot prices were assessed stable on the week Wednesday at $680/mt CFR Turkey.
Prices have tumbled 32% since May, when political uncertainty began to weigh on the Turkish economy and demand for the polymer began to tail off.
Demand was heard unchanged last week but European producers, a major source of material for the Turkish market, were reluctant to drop prices any further.
"Nowadays we're not offering to Turkey, the price level in dollars is out of our interest," a producer said Wednesday.
List prices for other polymers were flat on the week.
