Ukraine's exports of ferroalloys in January-February fell 15.9% on the year to 130,490 mt from 155,140 mt in the same period a year ago, the state statistics service reported Wednesday.

At the same time, revenues from exports of ferroalloys dropped 52% to $99.8 million from $207.8 million a year ago, the statistics service said.

In January through February, Ukraine exported 32,790 mt of ferroalloy to Turkey, 32,780 mt to Russia, 15,430 mt to Italy, 5,010 mt to Poland, 4,840 mt to the Netherlands, 4,620 mt to Romania, 4,290 mt to Finland and 3,480 mt to the US.

Ukraine exported 90,250 mt of silicomanganese in the first two months, down from 115,910 mt a year earlier. Exports of ferrosilicon fell to 6,620 mt from 9,180 mt. But exports of ferromanganese, including metallic manganese, increased to 20,340 mt from 16,350 mt.

Exports of ferronickel fell to 12,840 mt in January-February from 13,510 mt a year ago, but exports of ferrotitanium rose to 440 mt from 180 mt.

In February alone, Ukraine exported 79,740 mt of ferroalloys, up 13.3% from 70,390 mt a year earlier.

Exports of ferroalloys in 2015 dropped 16.9% year-on-year to 811,850 mt, compared with 977,530 mt in 2014.

Ukraine, one of the world's biggest producers of ferroalloy, cut output and exports of ferroalloy mostly due to weak prices on world markets, according to the Ukrainian association of ferroalloy producers UkrFA.

The armed conflict with Moscow-backed pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past 20 months has also contributed.

The conflict led to the shut down of the country's third-largest ferroalloy maker Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant, which is located in the Luhansk region.
